Okay so wow. What a week! The Hansens took us on a holiday to hit some highlights of the area- We left on Monday and went to Wilson's Promontory National Park, which is on the southeastern tip of the mainland of Australia, then to Phillip Island. We stayed 2 days at each, and saw the most amazing things!! God is awesome. It was breathtaking. I finally got some pics uploaded! They're kind of in the wrong order, but I'll get this figured out eventually. I also have posted some on facebook, so check those out as well!
Here's me feeding a kangaroo! We went to a wildlife sanctuary on Phillip Island, and the kangaroos ate out of our hands! it was sooo cute!! Some of them even had little joeys in their pouches!! omg you guys should have seen Jen- she was totally freaking out. :)
So, wow. Also something I didn't get to take pictures of, was the penguin parade at Phillip Island. It's world famous- google it. There's this beach, and all the tourists go and sit in these bleachers they have built, and right at dusk hundreds and hundreds of wild penguins come walking up and run across the beach to find their homes. They always come back to the same spot, even after weeks at sea. Different ones come every night, but they always come back to their little burrow things. They are seriously the cutest little guys!! We could see them close up too because after they cross the beach they come up beside the bleachers and under the boardwalk into the grass. Ahh so adorable! (Jen was also freaking out about this). Oh, and the sky that night was absolutely ridiculous. There's no cities around Phillip Island, so the stars were so clear and so bright! For those of you reading this that made those planet paintings- remember how we did that light spray to make like a milky-way looking thing? That's what it looked like. It looked fake. What a night to be amazed at God's creation!
We're back in mt. eliza now, at the Hansens. My fam has a few more people to catch up with while we're all here, but my parents and Caitlin are leaving on Wednesday. It certainly has been a whirlwind trip! Jen & I haven't really had a chance to do tons of job-hunting yet, since we've been gone, but next week is going to be full of that. (Be praying for that please..) We still haven't decided for sure where we'll be living yet either. With the Hansens in Mt. Eliza, (which is a suburb about 40 minutes south of melbourne), or in a flat in Brighton (about 15 minutes from the city).
Miss you guys!!
